This is album number 11 in the series of album music collections that features a variety of compositions, presented more or less in the order that they were created.
The Edge of Beyond – sounds like an outer space theme and as the title track is exactly that. This album kicks off with a couple of complimentary gentle tracks with And I Do – You Know I Do: followed by Lost an esoteric ambient vocal creation that I am rather proud of. Can It Be True 2 is re-visiting an earlier track of the same name giving it a laid back almost reggae feel. Into The Night is this albums orchestral track, something that has now become a regular feature on most of my albums.
I Miss You I Really Do is a real sit back, relax and chillout song without words and leads you gently to the title track. Chi Ba becomes this albums funky contribution and features some nice Sax chops. Try Your Luck floats you along into the final composition – Hold Me Close (To Your Heart), a song worthy of the likes of Celine Dion but here done as an instrumental. These last two tracks are a good example of how the end of one can bring inspiration for the beginning of the next.
Created by Clive at his home in exotic Bali, the influence of South East Asia and the relaxing beauty of his home island are apparent in many of these musical creations adding a further dimension to his western upbringing and 30 year musical journey.
The exotic and imaginary are interspersed with musical quotes and sonic references to many other styles including dance, funk, hip hop and R & B and jazz.
